Neil was a long standing member and supporter of Newmarket Rugby Club. For those of you who didn't know Neil, or not sure who he was, you would have certainly benefited from the significant contribution he made to the Club over the years.

As a player, Neil was a valuable member of the veteran's team and, most importantly, encouraged both of his boys to take up the game, firstly as mini & youth players, eventually progressing to the First team.

As a valued volunteer, Neil and his team would set up the pitch before every home match, irrespective of the weather. He would then dash home to change ready to serve at the pre-match luncheon.

At mini/junior award days, plus other functions, Neil was a regular BBQ chef, raising valuable funds for the club.

Neil was a warm, generous person, dedicated to his club. He was the person that every club needs but very few have.  Neil will be sadly missed.

The funeral will be at Bury St Edmunds Crematorium 15th June at noon followed by a celebration of his life at the White Horse Exning.
